1. The tiny churches
There are some beautiful tiny churches that you may not have thought of which are perfect for taking your vows. They are so romantic with their lakeland stone exteriors and wonderful polished pews inside. They set the perfect scene for your lake district wedding.
2. The views
Have you seen the views? I mean, really? The views must be the best anywhere in the world and they make the most stunning backdrop to your lake district wedding. I know that the weather can be a bit unpredictable but even on a typical moody day, the photographs are outstanding. Be sure to check your photographer brings a brolly… Just in case!
3. Massive choice of venue style
You have a huge choice of venues for your Lake district wedding. There is Holbeck Ghyll, a superb Arts and Crafts house overlooking Lake Windermere. Just below and right on the shore is the Low Wood Hotel where they can offer you great service and their famous wooden pier which is much in demand for photo’s. There is the Beech Hill hotel a little further towards the south of the lake which has amazing views or you can hide away completely at the Coppermines at Coniston which is definitely worth a look. I could go on, there are so many amazing places so go out and explore!
4. The food (it’s amazing)
Did I mention the food? Well, cumbrian beef and lamb are famous throughout the UK and the chefs are experts. The Lake District also has one of the UK’s most celebrated vegetarian restaurants, Lancrigg at Grasmere. All the venues here are very well prepared for intimate small parties or large family groups.
5. The seasons
There will be a unique feeling depending on the season you choose for your lake district wedding. I have performed in…
Summer with everyone enjoying the sunshine with maybe a sail on one of the lakes.
Spring is wonderful with all the daffodils and trees full of blossom.
Autumn with the faded browns and vivid yellows of the leaves and finally…
Winter in the lakes is brilliant with open log fires mulled wine and frost on the lawns.
